Fr. Pawel - Letter of Encouragement - April 1st, 2020

Dear Parishioners,

I hope you are healthy and courageous in the time of turmoil we are facing. Let me write a few words about the situation in the Diocese and our parish. As you may know, all the churches are closed until further notice.

We all are going through a very challenging time. Some of you feel abounded and discouraged in your faith. The churches are empty; they are locked down. We all try to stay home as much as possible. We want to be safe and secure. We want to believe in a better tomorrow, but…. we doubt, we fear, we are in emotional and spiritual pain.

In spite of it, many of you courageously carry the daily duties, fulfilling your commitments and doing your best to enrich your faith. I am grateful to you that in such a stressful time you are the true disciples of hope and serenity.

Many of you pray daily for our community. Thank you for such a wonderful act of charity toward others. Many of you still continue to financially support our beloved parish, St. Catherine of Bologna. I am especially grateful to you, since I know that it is hard to keep a financial commitment toward God and His church when tomorrow is unknown. Your financial gift is helping us tremendously to survive this turmoil. Also, your gift of prayer is carrying us through this dark time. This time is revealing the true character of the parish and her parishioners. So far, I see many of you witnessing the message of Christ in your words and deeds. I am thankful to you.

Please stay calm, prudent, reasonable, and faithful to the Gospel. May Almighty God bless you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Your Pastor,

Fr. Pawel
